What will be your daily pursuit?:
The Programming & Events Coordinator plays an integral role in coordinating GEM Events and other programming activities at The Banff Gondola. The Programming & Events Coordinator is also responsible for a set of administrative tasks and supporting The Gondola Coordinator on an as-needed basis.

What will you do in this job?:
Programming and Events consist of the following two types of activities:

GEM and Travel Trade Events: Close collaboration of GEM and Travel Trade activities. The Coordinator’s responsibility is to support all Gondola departments in understanding and operationalizing the needs and demands of these activities. The Coordinator will review and anticipate event requirements, ensuring department heads have the information required to smoothly execute. For more complex events, the Coordinator is required to be on site to ensure all plans are being executed effectively, stepping in to support the team when problems arise. The Coordinator’s role, when attending GEM events, is to ensure plans are being successfully executed and stepping to support as required.
Gondola Programming: Execution of the annual Gondola Programming plan. As Coordinator, you will collaborate with the Programming Lead to identify and execute the workplans associated with Gondola programming activities. These include, but are not limited to, Nightrise, Bloom & Brunch, Mountaintop Christmas, Mountaintop Drag, summer surprise and delight activity (including Peak Patio), and more.

Events Tasks – General (GEM , Travel Trade, and Gondola Programming)
Summarize and communicate essential programming information to all non-F&B departments.
Stay generally abreast of F&B elements, helping the F&B team anticipate guest/client needs.
Develop and drive a system for communicating information to all departments.
Present summary of important information at bi-weekly leadership meeting.
Identify when your on-site support is needed for potentially complex events.
ANTIPCIPATE operational challenges and/or opportunities associated with upcoming GEM events.
Participate in weekly GEM calls, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of upcoming activities—especially in areas not pertaining to food and beverage.
Administrative Tasks
Organize and administer the following Gondola programs:
Staff Birthday and Anniversary Program
Gondola committee meetings
Organize and administer Revinate tracking and tickets.
Staff Gift Card Management System
As required and as workload permits, support the Gondola Coordinator’s day-to-day tasks.

Strong customer focus providing friendly, professional and efficient service
Ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced environment
Solid knowledge of the products and services available in Banff and its surroundings
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
First Aid Training an asset
AGLC Pro-Serve certified for alcohol service
Prior experience in hospitality and/or special events
