What will you do in this job?:
In collaboration with the guest experience team at the Banff Gondola, is responsible for the planning and preparation for all annual festivals and seasonal events
Awareness, celebration, and activation of all calendar holidays at the Banff Gondola
Planning, preparation, activation and execution of all Festivals and Events
Project management of annual festivals including updating and tracking work-back schedules to ensure all tasks are completed on time
Sourcing and procurement for all elements of festival and event décor and programming
Booking, contracting, and managing vendors for events and festivals
Coordination with Shared Services including Marketing for festival and brand awareness
Onboarding for festival and event staffing including training and management
Activation of programming elements including set up, take down and liaison with other departments involved
Maintaining up-to-date inventory lists and maintenance/replacement of programming supplies
Management and tracking of all Programming finances including forecasting and expenses
Liaison with Director of Programming, Guest Experience Manager and GM on festival progress and plans
Update SOPs and key programming operational documents as needed
Liaison for Banff Gondola with BLLT and other community involvement opportunities
Familiarization and cross training of other departments within Banff Gondola
Special Projects assistance and coordination as needed
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Commitment to safety, at all times, in the workplace
Experience in planning, organizing and delivering special events or themed programming, including managing financial aspects of events.
Great communication skills, both verbal and written.
Able to work under minimal direct supervision
Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
Professional communication with vendors and external partners to maintain and foster effective business relationships
Able to demonstrate creative thinking quickly, and execute creative strategies
Solutions driven with ability to follow through on ideas
Passionate about celebrating holidays, bringing fresh ideas to current concepts and activation
Able to anticipate guests’ needs and apply solutions aligned with Pursuit’s mission and values
Resourceful, adaptable, resilient and having a strong sense of self-awareness
Computer literate with adequate knowledge in Microsoft Office programs
Comfortable working with different departments within the Gondola and able to communicate with all efficiently.
Able to perform in a fast-paced environment with physical demands and lifting of up to 50lbs
