A ridiculously cool life experience A plethora of lively staff events all season long A chance to enjoy the alpine vistas Department: Utilities Operations Employment Term: Regular, Full Time Description The Utilities Operator works to achieve well-maintained, uninterrupted, safe, and efficient utilities services for all Resort users and areas. The Operator supports and holds responsibilities for domestic water and wastewater treatment, along with administering propane, gasoline and diesel supply and distribution, and aspects of facilities and equipment. The Utilities Operator reports to the Utilities Supervisor or designate, liaising frequently with Maintenance, and all Resort departments. Job Functions The primary responsibility of this role is constant monitoring and maintenance of all utility systems and ensuring the department provides a high quality, prompt, and efficient system while always maintaining and contributing to a safe and efficient work site e.g., inspections, monitoring, disassembly, assembly, troubleshooting, cleaning of equipment and worksites, bulk supply orders. Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities: Completing documentation e.g., daily checks, assigned logs, daily reports, maintenance logs, inventory counts, worksite inspections, safe work plans. Communicating unusual operating conditions e.g., mechanical, operational, environmental. Effectively communicate, support, and adhere to all initiatives, policy/procedures, regulations, and certifications e.g., OHS, Environmental Protection Services, National Parks Act and Regulations, manufacturer requirements, regulatory guidance. Timely and accurate incident and deficiencies reporting to appropriate departments/personnel. Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time. Experience/Requirements High school grad or equivalent. Mechanically inclined. Be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid AB driver’s license. Must be positive, mature, and friendly attitude along with being neat, alert, punctual and dependable. Willing and able to perform all duties and departmental tasks. Prepared to work flexible schedules e.g., holidays, nights, extended hours. Prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions e.g., appropriate footwear, layers, gloves. Strong self-starter, reliable, calm under pressure, with a high degree of versatility and personal initiative. Effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally and in a confidential capacity. Maintain professional conduct when acting as a company representative on or off duty. Actively participate in meetings, training, and team events. Computer skills an asset - experience with Microsoft suite of programs. Additional Considerations Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty. This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, constant trunk rotation, frequent lifting (up to 25kg), pushing/pulling (up to 45kg), kneeling, crouching. Occasionally climb ladders or inclined stairs up to 5m. Must be able to hike and move around easily in an alpine environment. This role maintains/operates machinery, off road/highway vehicles, and works around moving equipment. This role maintains and operates hand/powered tools/equipment. Candidates may be required to provide their own transportation to the resort base. Candidates are required to provide and maintain CSA approved safety footwear. Required uniform pieces (liner, jacket, pants, toque/hat, collared shirt, polo) are provided This role has potential exposure to industrial chemicals/agents/sewage e.g., solvents, oils, grease, chlorine, acids, human waste.
