The Opportunity The Housekeeping and Custodial Department of the Banff Centre is looking for an Associate Executive Housekeeper, to assist the Executive Housekeeper in achieving all Housekeeping and Custodial objectives. This will include; daily completed functions, customer satisfaction, overall cleanliness, inventory control and budget goals. A positive and encouraging motivator, the Associate Executive Housekeeper is responsible for managing and training Housekeeping and Custodial Supervisors and employees. The Associate Executive Housekeeper is a positive and clear communicator with a proven ability to lead others. Specific Accountabilities Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, below are some key accountabilities: Plan, organize and operate the duties of Housekeeping and Custodial, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department Assist with hiring, training and managing employee performance Comply with all aspects of the collective agreement and partner with Human Resources representatives as needed Manage department payroll-related time and attendance tracking and scheduling under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper to ensure coverage of all areas and budget is maintained Conduct and participate in regular department meetings to ensure a complete understanding of specific objectives and duties by all team members Respond sensitively to guests in accordance with established guest service delivery standards Work with occupancy forecast to assist the Executive Housekeeper with creating and managing staffing plan needs Prepare daily worksheets for cleaning team, assign shift supervisors and direct housekeeping floaters Initiate ordering of supplies and complete all inventory control tasks for linen, cleaning supplies, amenities, housekeeping equipment etc, in accordance with established practices Work closely with Guest Services Managers, Conference Services Managers and Program Delivery Specialists on day to day tasks, reports, room requirements and special requests Manage Lost and Found Inventory Assume the Executive Housekeeper's responsibilities in their absence Ensure a positive and safe work environment for all team members aligned with Banff Centre policies Qualifications and Educational Requirements Completion of secondary school Strong written and verbal communication skills Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying up to fifty pounds Demonstrated supervisory experience working with large teams and fostering positive employee relations Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar position with a sound knowledge of the housekeeping operations Understanding of budgets and controlling costs Knowledge of Property Management System (PMS) software is an asset WHMIS Certification Employment Terms & Benefits In accordance with the terms of employment governing Management/PSP employees, this is a permanent, full time position, subject to a 6 month probationary period. The salary range for this position is $51,731 to $73,983 based on experience. The successful candidate will enjoy twenty paid vacation days and four personal days annually, extended medical and dental benefits, and participation in an employer-matched pension plan.
