Scope
Ensuring a consistent supply of clean dishware for use by the Kitchen and Food & Beverage departments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Cleaning all food-service utensils, dishes, glassware, pots and pans, and kitchen food-preparation tools either by hand or using an industrial dishwasher
Sort and stack dishes and glasses
Sort, polish, stack and store all cleaned items in an organized and safe manner
Ensure proper use of all personal protective equipment when using chemicals and that all chemicals are properly stored and organized
Sweep and mop of all kitchen and hallway floors throughout shift
Maintain the sanitation of kitchen equipment and other assigned areas in accordance with the Alberta Health Code and Hotel Standards
Ensure all breakages and chipped items are removed from circulation
Assist with peeling and washing fruits and vegetables as needed
Ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order, report any items in need of repair
Maintain a clean and safe work environment for all associates
Help ensure Stewarding area is clean at all times i.e. tables, walls, machines etc.
Physical Demands
Requires constant standing and walking
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 pounds/ 10 kg
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
Significant reaching above and below shoulder height
Significant leaning, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, scrubbing
Occasional bending, crouching
Working in a hot, humid, noisy environment
Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
Understands spoken English
Previous hotel or stewarding experience an asset
Able to meet the physical demands of the position
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Able to work effectively in a multi-cultural team environment
**This position will receive gratuities in addition to the hourly wage. **
