This position is responsible to lead the resort / hotel maintenance team to maintain and improve the standards of guest rooms, common areas and grounds. The right candidate embodies the Caribou spirit including:
Prior Maintenance Management and/or supervisory experience is an asset.
Strong ability to lead, coach and build a successful team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds.
Superior attention to details, time management, high quality environment.
A Pool Operators Certificate and a background in electrical and /or plumbing is an asset.
Prior experience and knowledge working with HVAC systems.
Task orientated and results driven.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establish goals, measurements and results for the department along with the General Manager.
Involvement in the preparation of the Maintenance Operating and Capital budgets.
Monitor and revise as needed, departmental health & safety tools including WCB and WHMIS training programs, policies and practices.
Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times and that all colleagues are committed to working safely.
Effective and timely interaction with all Hotel departments to positively impact guest experience by effectively and efficiently resolving maintenance concerns.
Motivate, train and lead maintenance personnel by personal example with a philosophy of work conduct, enthusiasm and personal development that leads to maximum performance and job satisfaction.
Organize, implement and track all maintenance projects for guestrooms and public areas.
Assist will all aspects of scheduling and payroll throughout the Maintenance Department.
General operational and preventative maintenance of systems including: Boilers and heating systems; Make up air and HVAC systems; Pool facilities; and General plumbing issues.
Maintain hotel guest rooms and public areas by performing routine maintenance jobs and repairs.
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on plumbing systems, electrical systems and appliances.
Maintain the safety and upkeep of guest areas in the indoor and outdoor spaces of the property including the removal of snow and ice and other hazards.
Maintain the integrity pools by ensuring a safe chemical balance through frequent testing.
Additional duties may be assigned to help meet guest needs.
