Full job description
28 Hours Per Week – 1 Year Contract
As Recreation Development Coordinator, you “Take care of Banff” by engaging residents in meaningful and accessible recreation experiences that foster individual and community wellbeing of Banff residents and program participants.

You are familiar with goals in the Framework for Recreation in Canada (Active Living, Inclusion & Access, Connecting People & Nature, Supportive Environments & Recreation Capacity). During this term, you will provide guidance, tactics and input related to relevant research and best practices for new or revamped capital projects and programs that achieve Framework goals.

You are confident that your work experience has built tactical and interactive skills to work with community and potential funding partners to achieve the vision set out in the Framework. You are eager to continue a path of recreation program and design that reflects accessibility, inclusion and best practices for all ages, stages, and recreational needs of Banff’s residents.

You have at least 3 years’ related work experience in a municipal recreation role and are recognized for your passion in researching best practices and emerging trends in recreation programming. This position is required to work on site and appropriate work space and resources will be provided. The starting salary for this 28 hours/week position is: $53,406.00/year. This term position is not eligible for group health and dental benefits, however, is eligible for paid time off for illness and vacation and some other non-traditional benefits of Town employees.
