Full job description
Position Overview

We are looking for full-time seasonal Servers that are dedicated, have high attention to details and a positive attitude. The BlackSwift Bistro is a fast-paced restaurant with a terrace at the trail-head of the Johnston Canyon hike. We see extremely high table turnover, need to be able to work under pressure and be efficient, and strive in a team work environment. Lunch menu is higher level pub style. Dinner is fine-dining.

Part-time servers are welcomed to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Offer a warm welcome to customers and bring them to their respective table. Be conscious of section division & rotation.
Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages.
Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products: upsell. Inform customers of daily special menu items. Mention favorite / must try dish / wine / cocktail.
Accurately put in customers’ orders and specific requests in POS.
Double-check that plates respect high quality standards. (presentable, no food stain, special request are correct)
Ensure customers are receiving the correct orders before delivering meals to the tables.
Collaborate & communicate effectively and with respect with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
Deal with minor complaints or problems with a positive attitude. Problem-solving, calm and professional outlook.
Issue bills and accept payments. Correctly close tables on the POS.
Do individual cash outs at the end of your shift. Fix typos, out of balance cashout.
Ensure cleanliness of the restaurant at all times, participate in rotational cleaning duties and do daily end of shift cleaning/prep duties.
Requirements

Available to work from May 11 to October 18.
Prove Valid ProServe Certification (Alberta liquor serving cert.)
Legally eligible to work in Canada (no sponsorship)
Provide clean criminal records
- Staff Accommodation available upon request and availability

Salary: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
