Description
The Staff Accommodation Custodial Assistant Supervisor provides an outstanding staff experience, leading the Custodial Team and performing general light maintenance in and around the on-site company staff accommodations. This role involves physical demands such as manual labour, lifting, and carrying. The Assistant Supervisor reports to the Staff Accommodation Supervisor and works closely with the Assistant Supervisor (HR), as well as liaising with resort maintenance departments.

Job Functions
The primary function of this role is to act as a leader to the Staff Accommodation Custodial team, adhering to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.
Assisting the Staff Accommodation Supervisor with scheduling the Custodial Team.
Implementing daily, weekly, and additional tasks for the custodial team, and ensuring their completion.
Inspecting sites and facilities to ensure established standards are met.
Performing general light maintenance duties, including: area touch-ups, assembling shelving units and furniture, fixing existing fittings, working with hand tools and small equipment.
Recommend or arrange for additional services required such as painting, repair work, renovations or replacement of furnishings and equipment.
Removing snow in a timely manner from roofs, entrance/exit and egress points, using approved tools.
Reporting any potential hazards or health and safety issues to the appropriate parties.
Other duties and specific projects may be requested and assigned from time to time.

Experience/Requirements
Professional, positive, friendly attitude, energetic and self-motivated.
Previous experience in a leadership role or overseeing/supervising a team is an asset, but not required.
Excellent time-management, problem-solving, and team-work skills.
Prepared to work flexible schedules (weekends, holidays, some evenings, and overtime).
Prepared to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions (appropriate footwear, outerwear, etc.).
Must always maintain confidentiality and professional conduct, on or off-duty, and online.
Effectively provide training, support and assistance to coworkers.
Attend and actively participate in meetings and training.
Timely and accurate incident reporting and deficiencies reporting to appropriate departments/personnel.
Must be punctual, and dependable.
Previous experience with hand tools is an asset.
Previous experience with a trade such as plumbing or carpentry is an asset, but not required.
Additional Considerations
Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgement, and report to work fit for duty.
This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, constant trunk rotation, occasionally lifting, pushing/pulling of equipment, and using tools for removal of snow and ice (up to 30 kg). Occasionally climb ladders or inclined stairs up to 5m.
This role may operate machinery and work around moving equipment.
Some uniform pieces (liner, jacket, pants, toque) are provided. The Assistant Supervisor must be prepared and wear appropriate footwear, gloves, layers, etc. for the conditions.
This role is subject to the terms and conditions contained in the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook and Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
