Town of Banff Banff, AB Permanent, Casual Job details Job type Casual Permanent Location Banff, AB Full job description Casual, Permanent Contributing to the transportation and well-being of adults and older adults, you “Take Care of Banff” by providing transportation services to clients in Banff by way of safe operation of an accessible vehicle, as well as the efficient planning and provision of transit services for seniors and those with mobility challenges throughout the Town of Banff. Your previous experience has prepared you to help navigate busy Banff streets in order to connect bus users to programs and services that will decrease social isolation and contribute to their health and wellbeing. This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, flexible, responsive and caring. Your ‘people’ skills are as equally valuable as your driving skills. The primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Operate a vehicle in a safe, legal, courteous and timely manner. Plan routes on a run-by-run basis and adjust routes as required. Assist persons with disabilities in loading and/or exiting the bus as required. Assist persons with disabilities from point of origin to destination. Inspect vehicle both prior to and after operation for any damage or needed repairs and report findings to Fleet Services mechanical staff. Perform housekeeping duties for the vehicle and ensure all safety equipment is operational prior to operating vehicle. Keep accurate statistics as required. Perform all other related duties as may be requested by the Seniors Support Coordinator. You have a valid Alberta Class 4 driver’s licence and can produce a current, clear driver abstract and RCMP criminal background check prior to employment. Related experience operating large accessible coaches will be considered an asset. Working safely is a condition of employment at the Town of Banff.
