Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Banquet & Events Manager to oversee the planning and execution of events at our hotel in the Canadian Rockies/Bow Valley. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and customer service, with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. As an Assistant Banquet & Events Manager, you will ensure that all events run smoothly, providing an outstanding experience for our guests while adhering to budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities

Coordinate all aspects of banquet events, including setup, service, and breakdown.
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences for each event.
Manage staff assignments and ensure proper training for banquet team members.
Oversee food and beverage service, ensuring quality standards are met.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors for catering, decorations, and equipment rentals.
Monitor event budgets and negotiate contracts with suppliers to maximize profitability.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during events.
Provide exceptional guest services to enhance customer satisfaction.
Handle any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
Requirements

Proven experience in a banquet management role within the restaurant or hotel industry.
Strong background in guest services and customer service excellence.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
Knowledge of budgeting practices and negotiation skills for vendor contracts.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
A passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences for guests.
Previous experience in marketing events is a plus.
