Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are ready for our chefs to create delicious meals. This position requires a passion for the food industry, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and measuring spices.
Follow recipes and instructions from chefs to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of any shortages.
Support the cooking staff during meal service by preparing garnishes and assisting with plating dishes as needed.
Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety standards.
Participate in cleaning duties at the end of shifts, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
Skills

Previous experience in the food industry or kitchen environment is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Basic cooking skills with a willingness to learn more advanced techniques.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
Excellent communication skills to follow directions from chefs and interact with other kitchen staff.
