Rate of Pay Second Cook: Starting at $17.50 per hour. Full rate after one year is $19.47 per hour.

Rate of Pay First Cook: Starting at $18.56 per hour. Full rate after one year is $22.54 per hour.

Rate of Pay Demi Chef Partie: Starting at $20.95 per hour. Full rate after one year is $24.03 per hour.

Rate of Pay Chef de Partie: Starting at $23.60 per hour. Full rate after one year is $27.58 per hour.

What you will be doing as Second/First Cook - Savoury:

Prepare, cook and service all food items for a la carte and or buffet menus according to the recipes and standards including mise en place of fruits and vegetables
Ensuring quality, and freshness, to all food items being prepped
Have full knowledge of all menu items in your area; participate in the creation of daily features and promotions
Receiving, and maintaining proper rotation of products in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage using FIFO
Following all standards set in place by the Sous Chef
Adhere to and follow ALLSAFE health and safety protocols
Flexibility to work in any kitchen venue environment at anytime
Other duties as assigned
What you will be doing as Second/First Cook - Pastry/Bakeshop:

Prepare daily production of fresh artisan breads, rolls, muffins and all other bakeshop items according to the standard recipes
Prepare daily production of fresh scones, cakes, cookies, tarts, squares/bars, according to the standard recipes
Proficient in artisan breads, quick breads and laminated products
Ensuring quality, and freshness, to all food items being prepped
Receiving, and maintaining proper rotation of products in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage using FIFO
Following all standards set in place by the Sous Chef
Adhere to and follow ALLSAFE health and safety protocols
Other duties as assigned
Your experience and skills include:

Minimum 1 year culinary/baking & pastry arts experience for Second Cook and minimum 2 years culinary/baking & pastry arts experience for First Cook preferably in a luxury hotel or large kitchen environment
Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Culinary School an asset
Safe Food Handling Certification
Previous experience as a Kitchen Helper or Cook
Able to lift, carry and pull up to 50lbs and able to constantly stand and walk throughout shift
Able to withstand exposure to kitchen equipment includes large and small ovens, stoves, steam kettles, mixers, sheeter, fryers, rational ovens, steamers, tilt skillets, fridges and freezers as well as blast freezers
Attention to detail, accuracy and consistency with recipes and plating
Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Able to maintain high service levels under pressure
Able to lift, carry and pull up to 50lbs and able to constantly stand and walk throughout shift
