Location: We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator for our Banff Sunshine Village operation in Banff, Alberta.

Banff Sunshine Village's unique location will make you feel miles away from civilization, even though you're only a 15-minute drive from the town of Banff. We are located 7,200 feet high on the Continental Divide, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Our three mountains offer vast terrain, and will wow you with 360 degrees of uninterrupted mountain views. Banff Sunshine provides terrain suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels. You can even ski two provinces (Alberta and British Columbia) in one run! Skiers and snowboarders love Sunshine for our snow and our extra long winter. Our seven month ski season stretches from early November until late May, making us the longest non-glacial ski season in Canada.

Principal Function:

The Payroll Coordinator is an entry level payroll position which requires strong numbers orientation, problem-solving skills, research skills, computer skills and attention to detail.

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for providing accounting support to the HR team and other management personnel within the business unit. He or she will perform basic data entry and accounting tasks such as keying daily worksheets into the general ledger system, ensuring files are complete and maintained, handling accounts receivable or payable duties, and other functions to generally support the department. More specifically, this candidate will manage the payroll processing of our weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles.

Essential Responsibilities:

Support the HR and maximize Sodexo Live!'s revenue and operational excellence through performance of varied accounting tasks and duties including payroll.
Contribute to the efficient operation of the business unit by inputting and processing payroll related data to maximize revenues and profits.
Contribute to goal of making Sodexo Live! #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through personal commitment and leading by example.
Qualifications/Skills:

Required:

High school diploma, some college and/or appropriate combination of education and work experience to support on-the-job effectiveness.
Ability to work independently, exercising appropriate skills for effective judgment, creative problem solving and taking initiative.
Excellent communication skills, with ability to deliver and interpret information across various sources.
Numbers orientation, with ability to accurately compute various mathematical equations.
Exceptional computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite software.
Preferred:

College degree in Business, Accounting or a related field of study.
Familiar with Payroll Guardian (PGI) or other payroll systems
Six months of previous experience or exposure to payroll and accounting principles and procedures.
Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.
Self-starter who can work independently and, on several tasks,/projects simultaneously, and who can contribute to functional areas of the business outside of the finance area.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Initiative in identifying and resolving problems timely and effectively.
Other Requirements:

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
