PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Grounds Labourer is responsible for maintaining the lodge’s grounds to the highest standards, ensuring guest satisfaction and adhering to safety protocols.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Keep sidewalks, roads, stair areas, patios, and balconies clear of ice and snow.
Remove icicles from roofs and windows.
Assist in snow removal using hand tools, heavy equipment, and clearing snow from roofs.
Maintain cleanliness of lodge grounds, including litter pickup and waste management.
Handle and manage wood supplies, including piling, stacking, and delivery.
Check and maintain equipment daily.
Flexibility to work varied shifts depending on weather conditions.
Assist with general maintenance tasks in staff accommodation areas if needed.
Operate heavy equipment for grounds maintenance (experience is an asset).
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
EXPERIENCE

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
At least 6 months of experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance.
Physical ability to perform tasks such as shoveling and climbing ladders.
Experience in maintenance labor is beneficial.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including extreme weather conditions.
Good physical dexterity for manual tasks.
Comfortable working outdoors throughout all seasons.
