We are a growing Alberta-based accounting firm looking for an Intermediate Accounting Technician with a minimum of 4 years of experience. In this role, you won't just work for one company—you’ll be a vital resource for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. Key Responsibilities This is a fast-paced role that requires the ability to switch gears between different client files and industries daily. Multi-Client Bookkeeping: Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for a diverse roster of clients, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date. Year-End File Preparation: Prepare high-quality year-end working paper files and assist in the preparation of Compilation engagements. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file GST, PST (where applicable), WCB, and T4/T5 returns for multiple entities. Corporate & Personal Tax: Assist in the preparation of corporate (T2) and personal (T1) income tax returns. Workflow Management: Manage deadlines for multiple clients simultaneously, ensuring provincial and federal filing requirements are met on time. Client Advisory: Act as a first point of contact for clients regarding their day-to-day accounting software and bookkeeping questions.. What You Bring to the Table We need someone who can manage the "public practice shuffle" with ease and professionalism. Experience: 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally with at least 3 years in a public practice firm. Software Expertise: Advanced proficiency in CaseWare, QuickBooks Online, and Profile. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of payroll legislation, GST rules, and ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises). Adaptability: The ability to learn new client internal systems quickly and manage competing priorities during "tax season" and month-end crunches.
