Position Overview

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to support a dynamic team in delivering exceptional customer experiences, driving sales, and championing our brand’s heritage and values. You’ll assist with daily operations, help coach and motivate the team, and support the implementation of strategies to achieve business goals while maintaining a welcoming, high-performing retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer issues promptly.
Assist in achieving or exceeding store sales goals.
Promote product knowledge and upselling techniques among staff.
Support the Store Manager in hiring, training, and mentoring store employees.
Supervise staff and ensure daily tasks are completed effectively.
Motivate team members to meet performance and customer service goals.
Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Oversee inventory management, including receiving shipments and stock replenishment.
Ensure store displays are clean, organized, and visually appealing.
Handle cash management, including deposits and register reconciliation.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
Monitor loss prevention and ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.
Help conduct audits and support corrective actions when necessary.
Support company events, promotions, and community initiatives as required.
Perform other related duties as needed to support overall business operations and goals.
Qualifications:

Minimum 2–3 years of retail experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role would be considered an asset.
Strong customer service and sales skills, with a proven ability to meet or exceed targets.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop team members.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management, and basic computer applications.
Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising standards, and visual presentation.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and operational excellence.
Ability to handle cash and financial transactions responsibly.
Experience supporting or coordinating in-store events, promotions, and community initiatives.
Flexible to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Ability to lift and move merchandise as needed.
