As the Vehicle and Equipment Trainer, you “Take care of Banff” by transferring hands-on technical knowledge of a variety of vehicles and equipment operations, as well as maintaining and enhancing our training program. You will train all Town employees in equipment ranging from a scooter to a grader. Your duties may also include vehicle inspections and once trained, you will lead our fall arrest hardware inspections program. You will perform and maintain vehicle first aid kit inspections and upgrading as required, you may also be called upon to assist with incident investigations and driver/operator retraining as required.

In addition to hands-on equipment and vehicle training, you will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as developing and maintaining the training libraries, training records and ensuring regulatory compliance. You can effectively work in different work environments that vary from outdoor settings (operations yard) to a quiet office setting. This position requires the ability to meet cognitive and physical demands such as lifting, pushing, pulling a variety of weights (10-50 lbs.), and working outside in all weather conditions.

Your years of experience operating a variety of vehicles and equipment and a broad range of administrative skills will help set and maintain the training standards. You are confident in your teaching abilities and always have safety first top of mind. You have at least five (5) years of operating/training experience in related fields. The starting salary for this 40-hour, 5-day a week position is $67,356 (subject to qualifications & experience). This position is eligible for group health and dental benefits after a three-month (3) probationary period.
