Full-Time, 8-Month Term
As the Cemetery Coordinator, you “Take Care of Banff” by being the key point of contact for all public facing activities at both the Old Banff Cemetery and Mountain View Cemetery in Banff. From fielding general inquiries, arranging interments and organising the installation of monuments; the Cemeteries Coordinator is knowledgeable on all cemetery processes, comfortable in walking the public through the requirements and able to validate the required paperwork. In addition to pubic facing activities, the Cemetery Coordinator also handles all data entry and is able to keep cemetery records organised, accurate and up to date, as well as digitizing a large amount of old paper records and transferring them into the Town’s cemetery software.

If you enjoy working with data, records, and a bit of history, then this position is right up your alley. You are comfortable assisting families in navigating complex information to make final arrangements for their loved ones. You are also a tech-savvy person, curious about cemetery management, digitizing interment records and working within digital records software. You have attention to detail, are organized, and easily handle large amounts of data while providing quality customer service.

You thrive in an active work environment where people are coming and going throughout the day and can prioritize work in case of last-minute interment services.

The starting rate of pay will be $26.00/hour depending on your experience. This position is also eligible for 5 paid personal days. The start day would be as soon as possible, and the end of the contract would be December 31st 2024, with the possibility of an extension.
